The Language Justice committee of ISPN has created a valuable resource explaining the rights of Medicare/Medicaid patients in Missouri to access no-cost interpretation services. This resource is important because access to well-trained medical interpreters in encounters with healthcare providers can help to:

  • Improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare disparities

  • Increase patient satisfaction and trust in their healthcare providers

  • Reduce the risk of medical errors

  • Improve communication between patients and their healthcare providers, which can lead to better informed decision-making

  • Promote cultural competency and understanding in healthcare settings
